Principal/Owner of the Amber Gordon School of Dance and one of the most highly qualified teachers locally. Throughout her training Amber has benefited from the most exceptional teaching from lead examiners and professionals in the dance world.
She started to dance aged 3 taking annual RAD ballet exams before being awarded the Arts Council’s Talented Child of the Year award and being offered a place to train at The Hammond,Chester – Professional Dance and Dance Teaching three year course. Amber graduated with Advanced level qualifications in all Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing exams along with Distinctions in all Teaching exams. On graduating she worked professionally as a teacher and choreographer for the ISTD organiser and other schools in Greece. In 2002 she returned to N.Ireland and opened the Amber Gordon School of Dance, offering RAD ballet and ISTD Modern and Tap in Lisburn and Hillsborough. Amber has continued to studying and is proud to have achieved Licentiate status with the ISTD, one of the highest teaching qualifications. She also studied and qualified as an Acrobatic Art teacher and most recently was invited to learn the new Musical Theatre Grades at RAD headquarters. Amber is a highly qualified and experienced teacher who enjoys teaching the young through to the senior students, as well as preparing the pupils for their RAD and ISTD examinations and shows at the Island Hall. She has helped many students gain places at top College’s in London and go on to work professionally in the Industry. She is widely recognised for her ability to achieve the best possible results from students whilst still retaining a great sense of enjoyment, and has run the school for 23 years with great success.
